Dear Rod,
This is a very belated note to let you know I took your seminar at
Beneath the Sea in 2006. Your seminar was by far the best I have ever
taken at BTS!!!! I had just started shooting digitally and over the
past few years I have had the concepts you discussed reinforced again
and again. I just attended a seminar by Seth Resnick on the use of
Lightroom and again I was struck that many of the ideas were the ones
you discussed back in 2006. Hopefully you will repeat your BTS
appearance in the future.

Hey Rod,
Alright, alright, I'll stop now - we just thought it'd do you good to practice your Spanish a bit before you go to Mexico! Por que no? Salud! :-)
This is just a quick note to say hello and to thank you once more for your workshop. We thoroughly enjoyed our lessons with you, we learnt a lot, and you left us inspired (apart from tired!). We now feel a lot more confident with our D70 underwater and are happy to be well into our 'next stage' in our photography. We are certainly very proud of some of the photos we brought back with us - those sharply focused ones with subjects that fill the frame nicely and have a pleasant composition (not to forget movement or action in the shot), as well as correct exposure and hardly any backscatter, showing the subject (in some cases two or more) doing something interesting or unusual, etc, etc, (see, we still remember what you said!!!). Oh, did we mention those photos where we experimented with light to create a bit of drama?
No, seriously, thanks again Rod for your valuable advice, it was a pleasure shooting with you and to get to know you and your work. We found you generous in your advice and always willing to share to genuinely help us improve. We hope that unlike us, those that followed in later workshops, did not giving you too much of a headache :-)
Hope you can make it to the Philippines in the not too distant future. You are most welcome to stay with us and we will be more than happy to take you to the best diving spots.
Trust this finds you well back in the US. Regards to Angel also from all of us, including Charlie!
Warmest regards,
Maria and Michael

RE: Our KBR & Workshop Experience
Hello! Now that we have been back in Manila for a few days and have had a chance to catch up with things at home after our hols we wanted to say hello and to thank you once more for everything you did to ensure that we had a good stay at KBR.
We especially appreciated your efforts in accommodating our food requirements. We enjoyed the vegan food very much, it was all delicious, and having a special menu just for us was wonderful and made us feel thoroughly spoilt! We were actually going to ask if we could keep one of the menus as a souvenir of our wonderful stay with you, but unfortunately we forgot all about it - please keep them both for when we are back.
We will be grateful if you could please pass on our regards and thanks to Steve also - the diving was awesome and all members of the dive team were very helpful and entertaining.
Last but not least, the workshop with Rod was a particular highlight of our stay. Rod was helpful, professional and inspirational and we really enjoyed our lessons with him and learned a lot. We certainly saw the improvements with our photos straight away - now we just hope we won't forget too quickly all of his excellent advice! We appreciate that while Rod's workshop is completely separate to KBR, as you noted when we arrived, we believe it is a good draw card for divers. Rod's workshop was certainly the reason we came to KBR on this occasion as we had also considered the new Lembeh resort based on having heard some divers mention it here in the Philippines. In any case, we believe we made the best decision and there is absolutely no reason why we won't come and stay at KBR and see you guys again next year.

Dear Aggressor Fleet,
I participated in Rod Klein's Digital Workshop in Turks & Caicos. The Aggressor is great, I also did Galapagos last year with you & Scuba Specialties and plan on doing either Cayman or Truk later this year--because they are photo workshops!
I think this workshop concept is a real winner. I learned alot, and the pics I have on my website are really good advertising for the Aggressor, mostly because of the workshop experience. I would not have booked Aggressor without the workshop idea, and I am thinking of doing another because of it, so keep it up and I will be a repeat customer and hopefully I will be able to recruit others too. Rod did a great job

Dear Wayne Hasson:
I just returned from a week on the Turks and Caicos Aggressor, May 15-22. I wanted to give you a quick perspective on the Digital Photo Course run by Rod Klein. In short the course was truly remarkable, and worth every cent.
Rod has a wonderful way with people, kept everyone challenged in a nice way, taught all of us a huge amount and the positive change in photo quality that I saw from all of the class participants from day 1 to the end was enormous. I chose this trip because of the course offering and because of Rod. I spoke to most of the folks that took the class at the end of the trip and what I am about to say was echoed by everyone.
Many of us have been diving for a long time, all of us have gone through the investment in film and digital cameras, housings, strobes, etc. It is very difficult to find a convenient course offering like this. We all wanted a course taught by a known photo expert, and on a live aboard where we could concentrate on the course work. Rod's class is perfect, I believe for the typical live aboard diver.
The typical resident photo pro crew member is not what we are looking for as they have many other tasks to do, and most of them are not skilled in digital. My hope is that you continue to offer Digital Photography courses on your ships as they are a clear differentiator.
Rod is a great instructor with his sense of humor, endless energy, and patience (some of us made life a tad strenuous on Rod with our endless questions and late night laptop sessions in the salon).

Dear Aggressor Fleet:
I participated in a digital photo class during my stay on the Turk & Caicos boat, May 14 - 21. I wish complement Aggressor for picking dedicated professional as Mr. Klein to teach the course. I never studied under photography, but in less then a week I was fully confident to my picture taking ability.
Warm Regards,

Dear Rod,
Thank you for your letter regarding the August digital workshop. I am extremely excited. I really want to move to the next level of proficiency and skill with my underwater photography. What is being done now in the world of imaging I find incredibly exciting and want to be part of it. I am shooting with a Nikon D100 digital camera. I am housing the camera in a Light and Motion Titan D-100 housing with dome ports and necessary extension rings to house a Nikkor 24-85mm zoom,a Nikkor 16mm fisheye, and a 60mm micro Nikkor.
I am using a single YS-90 strobe. Although I have been shooting for a while, this equipment is relatively new to me. I have been shooting above water with the D-100 for the last nine months and doing my best to become familiar with the camera and lenses.
Between now and when the workshop begins I am going to focus on using the housing, lighting, camera and lenses as much as possible. I should have a good working knowledge of the equipment by the time of the workshop. Hopefully I will then be able to address my lack of knowledge of proper lighting, modeling and layout of photos.
Sincerely,
Geoffrey Schrader

Hi Rod,
My name is Andy Ball, and I will be attending the workshop with my wife Jennifer. We're both pretty new at the underwater photo thing, but have been working very hard trying to learn this new techonolgy.
I use an Olympus 5050 zoom with a Light and Motion Tetra housing; the strobe is from Sea & Sea and is a YX-90 I believe. I have a "wetmate" macro lens and wide angle lens that attach to the housing. Jen uses a Canon 10D with a Jonah housing and a similar strobe.
She has several lenses that attach to the camera itself and a couple of ports/extensions for the housing.....her system is much more complex than mine and I don't even know how to turn it on. We have been dabbling with Photoshop Elements for some after-image editing, but have pretty much limited ourselves to cropping and using the auto-color enhancement feature.
Most of our practice so far has been with up-close stuff and macro shots but I’m anxious to learn more about using the wide angle lens. Jen and I are very excited about the Aggressor trip and the workshop, and are looking forward to meeting you and becoming better photographers! We're looking forward to the workshop.
Sincerely,
Andy Ball

Dear Rod,
Looking forward to your upcoming workshop. I am using a Olympus D4040 in a PT-10 housing, ULCS arms and a Sea and Sea YS90DX strobe. I am really looking forward to the workshop. I am at the point where I need to learn so much more and am frustrated by not being able to capture the clarity and look in the photos I
desire.
I viewed your website - great stuff. Joe Robinson
